In only his second race of the Carolina Competition Sports (CCS) series, Houston Smith of Corrie Stott Racing captured his first pole of the year.  In securing the pole position Smith also gave Stott's team their first pole in three years.  Smith drove the number 02 car in the Limited Late Model Sportsman Division at the Dillon Motor Speedway this past Saturday.  The race, which consisted of thirty five laps, had a green - white checkered finish with only one caution flag on lap thirty three.  Smith, who finished second, ran a solid race and was even able to get under the leader on the white flag lap and challenge him for first.

Fourteen-year old Blake Jones had an impressive start to the 2011 season underway in the USAR Pro Cup series opener at New Smyrna Speedway until mechanical gremlins struck.  Blake and his team will rebound this weekend in round two of the USAR Pro Cup season at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, NC. Sporting the St. Baldrick's Foundation logo on his No. 80 Dodge Charger, Blake qualified on the outside of the front row and was led the race for eight laps before getting spun out. Rallying from the back of the pack was going to be a challenge but Blake was moving through traffic when a broken part sent him into the turn four wall and ended his day. Blake gets credited for 14th place in the season opener.

While it is not a prerequisite for other family members to have raced or be involved with racing, to become a race car driver it has certainly been a plus for 15 year old, Austin Berry.  Both Austin's father and grandfather were racers; his mom, Tina Berry, grew up less than a half mile from the local dirt track and from the looks of it, this young man is truly on his way.  Berry who just recently signed with McCallister Precision Marketing (MPM) has been racing since he was 9 years old.

If making a statement on the track was Houston Smith's goal this past weekend then he certainly reached his goal. This up and coming fifteen year old driver from Clermont Georgia, qualified 3rd and finished 2nd in the Inaugural Carolina Competition Sports (CCS) Late Model Sportsman division. Smith, driving his Corrie Stott Development, Chevron, Chizmark Larson Insurance Chevrolet car was consistent in this 35 lap event. Houston certainly showed a lot of maturity for this to have been his first time in a full size car. When asked how the car compared to driving his truck he replied, "It seemed to handle better and was so much fun to drive". "While I enjoy driving the truck the car just offered such a different, yet exciting rush", said Smith.

Fourteen-year old Blake Jones has quickly moved up the ranks in racing and takes on his biggest challenge yet with a full season in the USAR Pro Cup division. Former Pro Cup stars Trevor Bayne and Clay Rogers have been making headlines in NASCAR this year. The season opens this Saturday at New Smyrna Speedway and Blake will have a special decal onboard. Fourteen-year old driver Blake Jones has signed a two year deal with MPM Marketing. Blake will drive for family owned Teddy Jones Racing in the USAR Pro Cup series this year. Fresh off last years rookie of the year award in the late model division at Lonesome Pines Raceway, Blake is one of the hottest names in short track racing. Will Guin like any other 12 year old loves to play video games and spend time with his friends.  Unlike many other 12 year old's he is already focused on his future.  Guin, who is from Tignall, Georgia and has been racing since he was 7 years old, just signed with the Nascar Driver Development Team of Corrie Stott Racing.  After Will signed on with McCallister Precision Marketing (MPM) last year, Tonya McCallister, president of MPM, felt he was ready to advance out of Karting.  McCallister met with Corrie Stott and he agreed that Will would be an excellent choice for Stott's Driver Development Team.

Jill George, professional race car driver from Cedar Falls, Iowa, will pilot the Andy Hillenburg Motorsports, #11 Ford Fusion at the Daytona International Speedway on Wednesday, January 12th at the first Daytona test session of the season.  George, who has made her racing reputation driving her own dirt late model cars on the World of Outlaws and local midwest circuits, will once again test an ARCA car at Daytona in hopes of landing either a full time ARCA ride or a NASCAR truck series ride for the 2011 season.

The racing season for 2010 has come to an end for Jill George Racing, with the World Finals and World of Outlaws season ending banquet completed this past weekend.  The season, like most all racing seasons was filled with ups and downs.  However, Jill made tremendous progress, gained even more respect nationally and regionally, and her number of fans and supporters grew and grew as the season progressed.

Jill George, racing out of Cedar Falls, Iowa, has been invited by Roush-Fenway Racing to test a Nationwide car at Rockingham on July 27 and 28.  This test and tryout was by invitation only and Jill is one of seven drivers invited to this event.  George, primarily a dirt late model racer, currently stands 14th in points in the World of Outlaws Dirt Late Model series points standings.  She will go from Rockingham directly to Sharon, PA, to pick up the WoO tour that runs in Ohio and Pennsylvania the remainder of the week.

Jill George just might be one of the busiest women on Earth. She's a wife and mother, licensed chiropractor, a collegiate women's basketball referee, a dirt Late Model driver, and an aspiring and experienced ARCA Series presented by Re/Max / Menards driver.
 
 It was her duties as a basketball official that brought her into harm's way recently. George was scheduled to complete an officiating camp in Denver, Colorado. This year marked her third trip to the camp.

Jill George is no stranger to competition and this weekend at the world center of stock car racing will be no exception. George will drive the James Hylton owned #48 Dodge in the ARCA Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200. She will add to a large list of female entries at the first race of the season for the ARCA competitors. ARCA has historically been a proving ground for young and upcoming talent both male and female in the stock car world. The 2010 kickoff will be no different with several female drivers on the entry list including, Danica Patrick's debut onto the stock car scene.

This upcoming weekend, December 18-20, will find Jill George at the Daytona International Speedway practicing and testing an ARCA car for Andy Hillenburg Motorsports. Jill will also attempt to get her ARCA license for the 2010 season which will allow her to compete in ARCA events throughout the summer. "I was thrilled when Andy Hillenburg called and asked me to come to test and practice at Daytona. This is a great opportunity for me to continue to further my racing career and the experience and exposure will be invaluable as we move forward. I want to thank Andy for giving me this opportunity and I am hopeful to make the most of it, run some good laps and get my ARCA license. Then, we will see what comes of that."

Venturini Motorsports has announced the team's driver line-up for 2010 including a fulltime effort from Westlake, Louisiana driver Mikey Kile, slated to drive the no. 25 car for the entire ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards schedule.

The announcements were made during ARCA's annual Press Conference Saturday afternoon in Covington, Kentucky coinciding with the same-night ARCA Series championship awards banquet.

According to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society website, MS is "a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system, which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves."

MS is a disease that is difficult to research, as its symptoms and severity vary so greatly from one patient to another. It causes a wide array of debilitating health concerns. There is currently no cure.

Start to Finish LLC. Will hold a test session for the opportunity to compete in an upcoming Super Cup Race. Ten drivers will be selected to try out. One driver will win the ride. Drivers wishing to participate must be at least Fifteen years old and have parents permission in order to test. All participants must send a resume or statement of experience. Test to be held at a Super Cup track in July 08 Other qualified drivers may be offered the chance to compete in a Super Cup Race.
