Wyatt Coffey's epically sensational summer continues with wins and a championship

SALISBURY, N.C. - Wyatt Coffey’s sensational summer has continued in a big way.

The 11-year-old from Waynesboro, Virginia, locked up his second-straight Thursday Thunder Bandolero Bandits division championship at Atlanta Motor Speedway on July 18, which he earned thanks to six wins in eight events on the track’s quarter-mile frontstretch oval.

That was just the first step in what turned out to be a huge seven days for Coffey, who captured a pair of victories in the Bandolero Bandits division during Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Summer Shootout on July 23.

The first of those victories marked the 80th triumph of Coffey’s young career, a huge milestone for a driver so young.

As if that wasn’t enough, Coffey still wasn’t done. One day later, on July 24, Coffey made his debut in the 600cc Winged Micro division at Millbridge Speedway in Salisbury, North Carolina.

Battling national stars like NASCAR Cup Series driver Ty Gibbs and ARCA Menards Series competitor Gio Ruggiero, Coffey started second and took the lead on the opening lap. He then held the top spot for entire 20-lap distance to score his first victory in the 600cc Winged Micro division.

“The last few weeks have been amazing,” Coffey said. “First we were able to sweep the night at Charlotte in the Bandolero, which put me over 80 career wins. That was an incredible night.

“At Millbridge I was just hoping to make the show in the 600cc Winged Micro, but instead we went out and won the whole thing. It was a dream to start my time in the 600cc Winged Micro with a win like that, especially against the NASCAR guys in the field. Hopefully it helps me get noticed a little more by the those in the racing industry.”

Wyatt Coffey would like to thank CB Industries, his mom, dad, poppy, Tonya McCallister and MPM Marketing, along with his sponsors Coltman Farms Racing, Atlanta Paving & Concrete Construction Inc., ArborLife Professional Tree Care, United Tire & Auto, Bradley’s Trucking, Team Gordon, R&M Automotive, Bennett’s Hometown Garage, Payne’s Enterprises, Todd Rental, Mt.
