Kody King and Van Meter Inc. partner for return of Miller 100 at Hawkeye Downs

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Kody King is ready to tackle the return of the historic Miller 100 at Hawkeye Downs Speedway thanks to support from Van Meter Inc. in partnership with Hawkeye Downs.

Van Meter Inc., one of the largest electrical distributors in the United States, will serve as both a presenting sponsor of the Miller 100 in addition to sponsoring King during the 100-lap event on Saturday, July 12.

“I’m excited to partner with Van Meter for the return of the Miller 100 at Hawkeye Downs,” said King. “Hawkeye Downs and Van Meter are both around 100 years old, so it’s really a perfect pairing on the race track and in business.”

The Miller 100 presented by Van Meter marks the return of one of the most historic events in the history of Hawkeye Downs Speedway.

First held in 1973, the event became one of the premier Super Late Model races in the Midwest and has been won by some of the top stars from the region. Last held in 2011, the event returns to Hawkeye Downs on July 12 as part of the ASA Midwest Tour schedule.

Van Meter Inc., which is based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is a 100-percent employee-owned company that has more than 20 locations across multiple states. Founded by R.L. Van Meter and R.W. Lemley in 1928, the company continues to grow and innovate today.

The Van Meter Inc. logo will be prominently displayed on the rear quarter panels of King’s Super Late Model during the ASA Midwest Tour Miller 100 presented by Van Meter.

For King, a native of nearby Clear Lake, Iowa, it’s an honor to represent a company that boasts such a long and storied history.

“The team at Van Meter is always thinking outside the box and that includes joining our race team for the return of the Miller 100 at Hawkeye Downs,” said King. “It’s so special to represent each and every one of the Van Meter employees and I hope I can make them proud.”

The ASA Midwest Tour Miller 100 presented by Van Meter is scheduled for Saturday, July 12 at Hawkeye Downs Speedway. Tickets and additional information are available by visiting HawkeyeDowns.org.
